This tour offers an insight into the city of Jesolo and its many facets.
Starting from the hotel you reach Jesolo town and then continue along Via Rimembranza to reach the River Sile and Via Cristo Re, which runs along its right bank. Here begins a route that, at first on an asphalt road and then on a dirt road, takes you into the silence of nature, discovering the fascinating landscapes of the lagoon and the river.
Cycling along the bends of the Sile-Piave Vecchia, you reach the Porte (Locks) of Cavallino, where a system of locks provides a nautical link between the river and the northern lagoon of Venice and stops fresh water from flowing into the lagoon. The historic Locks were built by the Serenissima, while the more recent locks are currently used, and are crossed on footbridges with bicycles in hand.
At this point, exactly halfway along the route, there will be a small break with a tasting in a charming inn.
You will then continue along the Provincial Road, Via Fausta, but not without first stopping to look over the bridge at the particular panorama characterised on one side by the river operated lift nets (locally called “bilance”) along the river, and on the other side by its mouth where the Cavallino lighthouse stands. Then we continue along the Jesolo Lido cycle path back to the hotel.
